Superbook ( スーパーブック , Sūpābukku ), also known as Animated Parent and Child Theatre ( アニメ 親子劇場 , Anime Oyako Gekijō ),[one] is a Christian anime television serial from the early 1980s, initially produced at Tatsunoko Productions and TV Tokyo in Japan in conjunction with the Christian Broadcasting Network in the U.s.a., and rebooted in 2011 by CBN with Asia-Pacific region animation studios along with locally based partners like Tokyo MX and Word of Life Printing Ministries in Nihon.[ii] [3] [4] [5]

The series chronicled the events of the Bible's Old and New Testaments in its 52-episode run. The beginning 26 episodes aired from October i, 1981 to March 25, 1982. The series returned as Superbook II: In Search for Ruffles and Return to the 20th Century ( パソコントラベル探偵団 , Pasokon Toraberu Tanteidan , lit. Personal Computer Travel Detective Squad) with 26 episodes to air from Apr 4, 1983 to September 26, 1983. Between both series in the outset run was the companion series The Flying Business firm. The Christian Broadcasting Network is producing a new Superbook series and has released five seasons.[6] CBN is distributing the start, 2nd and third seasons for complimentary on their Superbook Kid's Website.[7]

Ruffles, his poodle, has managed to become lost in time, prompting Gizmo and Christopher'southward little brother (rewritten as his cousin in the English dub), Uriah "Uri" Peeper, to search for Ruffles. While Chris and Joy go on watch and control of the computer from the present, Gizmo and Uri experience the stories from the Onetime Testament solely.
